Jim Morrison and Pamela Courson (1970)
Pamela Courson was a Sunset Strip fixture in the ‘60’s and, according to Ray Manzarek, met Jim Morrison at the London Fog nightclub in 1965, before the first Doors album was released. It has been long rumored that Neil Young wrote “Cinnamon Girl” about Courson and her trademark red hair. Courson was living with Morrison in Paris at the time of his death and, like the Lizard King, was a heavy drug user. Courson found Morrison’s lifeless body in the bathtub of their Paris apartment on July 3, 1971 and no autopsy was ever performed. Courson followed Morrison to the grave only two and a half years later at the age of 28 from a heroin OD.
Just to tell… Pam and Jim met around March 1966, not 1965.
There has been rumours that they would have met eachother for the 1st time in a UCLA party in late 1965 though but most liikely started to date eachother in 1966.
Jim was NEVER a heavy drug user. Apart from booze he did a little cocaine and hallucinogenic drugs but never on a regular basis. Same for Pam, check her autopsy report it clearly state that Pam was not a heavy drug user.
And Pam died at the age of 27, not 28.
Oh, and it was 3 years later, and that photo was taken in 1969.
